I spent the last 10 years collaborating on creative designs and projects, copy editing, and hitting deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom in Northeast Florida. As a News Designer, I worked on A1, Metro, Business, International/National pages, Features, and the occasional Sports page, as well as sister publications. Some of my prouder moments have included leading multiple years of Project Pink (breast cancer awareness special sections) as community-interactive and -beneficial events, rather than just extra leaflets of information.

My personal life has been an amazing collection of experiences, some of which have directly benefited my work. From a friend at Mayo Clinic leading to a front-page story about a rare altruistic kidney donation, a connection in Alabama finding and returning a class ring to a former Jacksonville resident and his high-school sweetheart decades after it was lost (a Metro story), to my own connections in the midwifery community allowing me to catch an error that would have cost us at least a correction, I'm proud of the connections and adventures that make my life (and my work) better.

Prior to journalism, I was privileged to earn my Bachelor of Arts at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla., double-majoring in Creative Writing and Theater with a minor in Literature. I was proud to be chosen as a Ford Scholar my junior and senior year at Eckerd. I also have worked in healthcare with jobs and internships in primary and reproductive healthcare, student journalism, and the campus women's center, among other opportunities.

I've helped babies be born, and had my head locked in a box of angry scorpions without any problem (not at the same time, of course). You can trust me to do my best under pressure and get the job done.
